  The United States of America is the world's third most populated country after China and India. The Population of the United States of America is 332,403,550 (332 million) on January 1st, 2022. The population growth in the United States is mainly to high rates of immigration which have decreased since 2016. The US population grows on average by about 0.9 % every year but decreases annually. The birth rate in 2021 was 0.31 %. This is because of a decrease in total births over the year. The USA census is held once every 10 years to count the number of people and gather basic information, age, sex, and race. The information collected in the census is used for many purposes, to ensure each seat in Congress. They can build more housing, schools, and hospitals.
