The American revolutionaries took a great jump in belief and establish a new government based on the sovereignty of all States with a common goal of unity and prosperity. Democracy is a historically determined concept of the evolution of a community over time. The products of the American Revolution within three to four decades surrounding the war of Independence. Before 1730 and so on politics in American colonies remained focused on the center of the Empire. The royal governors usually got political leverage within the imperial government. American politics changed and the colonist's ability to influence English politics sharply declined.
The Campaign and Election of 1828
In the 18th century, democratic reforms made progress qualification of voting and forms of a political parties. The 1828 campaign started new democratic practices that highlighted the Jacksonian expansion of the electorate. It is different from earlier presidential contests. In 1828 Jackson won an overwhelming victory over Adams securing 56% popular vote and 68% electoral vote. The election was the beginning of democracy in the United States.
Democracy in America was published in two volumes the first volume was published in 1835 and the second was published in 1840. It is a classic French text by Alexis de Tocqueville translated into English. In the Book Tocqueville observed the democratic revolution that occurred over several years. In 1831 Alexis de Tocqueville and Gustave de Beaumont were sent by the French government to study the American prison system and American society. They collected information on American society including religious, political, and economical character. After the return, they published a book.
